Hi, I am Cathy Barnes and I am the founder and co-director of the Miami Valley Adaptive Color Guard. I taught for Miamisburg City Schools for 38.5 years. I was the director of the Miamisburg High School World Guard for 26 years. During that time the World Guard achieved Gold medals 3 times and silver and bronze medals many times. I then went on to start the junior high program as well as the elementary program. I was a feature twirler at my school, Sycamore High School in Cincinnati and was Captain of the Miller Blackhawks Twirling Corp. I was a United States Twirling Association Judge for 15 years and have been judging colorguards in band competitions and winterguard competitions for the past 30 years.

Miamisburg World Guard
Started with ACG in 2018
Hi, I’m Julie, and I’m thrilled to be part of the ACG family. I love these kids – they are AMAZING! I’m a past Miamisburg World guard alum (before tarps were a thing). I was the first alum to teach the Miamisburg Jr. Vikes, also taught FJM camps and am currently part of the Miamisburg Sweethearts elementary staff. My days are busy working from home as Marketing Director for an IT tech company, I enjoy sharing life with my husband Michael (yes Michael Bolton) and cat Patches.
Bridget Fricke
Centerville World Guard
Started with ACG in 2018
Hi, I'm Bridget! I've been with the ACG since 2018. I was in the Centerville World Guard and also spun with Allegoria Winter Guard. I love spending time with my family: my husband, our twins, and our two mini schnauzers. We love to play board games, go on walks, and when we can, we love going to the beach!
Kent Sholder
Springboro HS Panther Winter Guard
Started with ACG in 2022
Big time animal lover here, that shares his home with a rescue Frenchie! Way back in the 80’s I performed with Springboro HS Panther Winter Guard, then moved on for three seasons with Miller’s Blackhawks. Taught summer clinics for FJM and even was on staff with Miamisburg World Guard for one season and also worked with numerous other HS groups until moving on from the color guard world. Working in the landscape industry currently and enjoying my first season working with the great young people of MVACG!
